Privacy Policy — Hitori: Logic Number Puzzle
This page describes what the Hitori app does and does not do with your data. We've tried to keep it short and specific instead of long and legalistic — if something on this page is unclear, email the address above and we'll fix it.
TL;DR
- We don't ask for an account. We don't have a server. We don't profile you.
- Your puzzle progress lives only on your device.
- Ads come from Google AdMob (a third party). AdMob may use a non-identifying advertising ID to choose an ad. You can reset or limit that ID in your device's Settings → Privacy at any time.
- The one-time "Remove Ads" purchase is processed by Google Play Billing; we never see your card or payment details.
- The app does not collect, store, sell, or share personally identifying information. Period.
What stays on your device
Everything that makes the game "yours" stays in the app's local storage, never leaves the device, and never reaches us:
- Solved-puzzle counts, best times, current and longest streaks, last daily completion date.
- The trophy progress counters (Speed Demon, Solo Solve, Theme Explorer, etc.) and a private high-water-mark timestamp used to keep streak counters honest against device-clock changes.
- Your in-progress puzzle (daily, picker, and per-level autosaves).
- Your settings — theme, language, sound and haptics toggles, accessibility preferences.
- Your IAP entitlement (whether you've purchased "Remove Ads"). We store only the fact of the purchase, never the underlying receipt or any Google account identifier.
You can erase all of this at any time by uninstalling the app or by clearing the app's data in your device's Settings → Apps → Hitori.
What third parties may collect (and how to control it)
Google AdMob (advertising)
When ads are enabled, AdMob may use the Android Advertising ID (AAID) on your device, plus coarse device and network metadata (model, OS version, country, language, IP-derived country) to pick an ad. AdMob's behavior is governed by Google's Privacy & Terms and their Mobile Ads SDK data disclosures.
You can opt out of personalized ads or reset the AAID at any time:
- Android 13+: Settings → Security & Privacy → Privacy → Ads.
- Android 12 and below: Settings → Google → Ads.
Buying the in-app "Remove Ads" item disables interstitial ads entirely. Rewarded video remains available because the player has to opt into watching it — we don't show ads you didn't ask for.
Google Play Billing (in-app purchase)
The "Remove Ads" purchase is processed by Google Play. Google Play handles your payment and gives the app a confirmation that you own the item. We never receive or store your payment method, billing address, or Google account.
Google Firebase Remote Config (configuration only)
The app uses Firebase Remote Config to fetch tunable values such as ad frequency caps. The request is anonymous — it carries an instance ID Google uses to deliver the right config, but no personal data. See Firebase data collection details.
Network time (anti-cheat)
To keep streak progress honest when device clocks are wrong or
deliberately altered, the app reads the time from public NTP servers
(via the flutter_kronos library) the first time it has
network access. The NTP request reveals only your device's IP address
to the public NTP pool; no app-side identifier is attached.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. AdMob's content rating is configured to "General audiences." If you believe a child has used the app on your device, you can uninstall it to clear all locally stored progress.
Permissions the app requests
- Internet — to load ads, verify the IAP, fetch Remote Config, and read NTP time. The app is fully playable offline; only those four features need a network.
- (No other runtime permissions.) The app does not request contacts, photos, microphone, location, calendar, or storage.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change what data the app handles, we update the Effective date above and announce the change in the app's release notes. Continued use of the app after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
